We have three new search options to show you, plus a few tips along the way. In a nutshell, if you want to find someone online, they got no chance!
Your excited, I hear you say. Well you should be, as dating sites and crypto sites in particular are not as easy to search against as generic social media and forums. Dating sites in particular like to keep their users private. However, some of them, and we stress only ‘some’ show a very small public presence on each user. For Example, Tinder.com will not present to the world all your information, but for some reason they choose to present your initial public picture and name.
Yes, we are confused on why they chose to do that. However, there seems to be a lot of dating sites that like to ‘tempt’ you in with showing a little profile profile.
“Most dangerous is that temptation that doth goad us on to sin in loving virtue. “
Anyway, here are the dating sites we’ve managed to include so far:
- telegraph Dating
Another search we’ve built thanks to gaining access (we have permission!) to the API at haveibeenpwned, is the ability to quickly determine if your email address (or perhaps the email address that your checking) has ever been hacked (which includes dating sites). We thought our users may find this useful. Note for those not in the know: many sites have thier datebases hacked and all their usernames, passwords and email address’s released to the public. Our search can check all these databases. Wow, we know…
Hint : If you don’t find the user profile from our dating search, run the email address or username in our hacked search. You may find your target has been inlcuded in the hack, which is pretty strong evidence of usage of said website. E.G, AshleyMadderson, OkCupid, Coffee Meets Bagel, the list goes on.
Finally, with the rise in popularity of Crypto Currency, we thought our users may find it useful to search all those Crypto Discussion Sites. So that’s what we did. You can now find any user across the top 6 most popular Crypto sites including:
- cryptoheresy.com Forum
Why only 6? well these sites are about as challenging to search as dating sites, but were getting there. If you have a particular one you want included, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Litte unused search that has a big punch..
We found from our work building the algorithms for Crypto Forums that the generic forum structure online is quite consistent. Therefore, we’ve thrown in an extra little search of the top 38 world wide discussion forums. We just call it ‘Generic Forum’ search. These include some of the largest user base’s online (Adobe Forums, Stiuble Upon, Exploroo, Ryze, HR Forums, storify, Dribble, devshed, bbpress, Apple Discussions, Cnet, CyberFriends, the list goes on).
Fun Fact: We don’t know any site online that offers a more comprehensive search engine for usernames (free!). Numbers show the beans, as we now recieve close to 1 million searches per month and rank top across all major search engines for finding users! PS – if you want us to add a new site or field area, send us an email to email@example.com
